There's rice at home

There's rice at home

A Poem by IWASNEVERTHERE

An African queen
Royalty covered in melanin
Raising kings in an unknown land
The fear of being trapped
An illusion held together by strings
A puppet searching for a better life
Singing in a foreign tongue
Face covered in lines of gold
Uneasy lays the head that wears the crown
Uneasy she lays turning deep at night
