A Poem by IWASNEVERTHERE

None of this really happened
Why?
I'm awake but my eyes are closed
I'm dreaming
Somewhere close to the river you created
Do you remember the river?
The one we'd use to swim
The one you tinted with all your lies
There's a flower
The water now has your attention
Look at the flowers scream
Of course you don't
I take your hand and lead you to it
It's just like the old times
The ground opens up
Now we're drowning
Remember the river?
It surrounds us now
Please remember to breath
I remember begging you
Telling you to close the door
We left the room
I told you to open your eyes
You were still chasing the flowers
He loves me, he loves me not
I go silent, we hear gunshots
I start smiling
You start crying
Do you remember the river?
I see it now infront of me
A hopeless red
Gushing forth like a stream
You try to stop it
I tell you to let me be
You start drawing maps on my body with your lips
You hoped to find me in someone else
Why are you so selfish?
Remember when you took the last macaroon?
Laughing while it danced on your tongue
You were so beautiful
We hear a whisper
"It's just the wind" you say
That was always your problem
You never took the time to listen to it
So the wind left
You chased it away
It's starting to become a habit of yours
I forget to breath
You tell me I'm stupid
You were still thinking about the flower
It kept getting further and further away
You reach out to grab it
Don't get hurt chasing pretty things
You might forget what you wanted in the first place
Do you remember the river?
The river now separates our reality from insanity
