A Poem by IWASNEVERTHERE

You sit on the ground
I ask you to get up and you scream at me
I hear the sadness in your voice
The subtle regrets in your eyes
I see a man walk by
I wonder what he thinks of us
He shakes his head and walks past
I focus on the tree
I wonder if it misses it's leaves
Does it search for them in new ones?
You shout at my name
I stare at you in confusion
Searching for the brown that once got my attention
They were nowhere there
All I could see was darkness
I hear music
Not the romantic fairytale type
You drown it out with your cries
I take your hand
You hold me then pull me away
You were never mine
You take another look at the vodka
An affection I know so well
You take a sip for every lie we told
"We'd always be together"
"I'll never get tired of you"
"You're my idea of perfection"
"I love you and I always will"
That's when you start to cry again
You hit the ground
The sand dances in reaction
The wind cold as his stare
By him I mean the man
Did I mention the man was still there?
