What If

What If

A Poem by Ivy

in the dark recesses of the novel
that is the mind
of the transcendent pig
there is an old barn
with a tree of an even more impressive age
with a fruit as young as wonder
called “what if”

and though it greatly resembles its forefruit
in looks, weight, and consequence
it stings the ground
for its own purposes
and is a hot
sticky mess
in the late afternoon sun

About
Here's my poetry. The good, the bad, the downright horrendous. Take it for what it's worth. If you choose to critique it, be brutal. Poets of interest: William Shakespeare, E.E. Cummings, Sylvia Pla.. more..
