The Song Stumbled

The Song Stumbled

A Poem by Ivy

The song stumbled from your lips and fell in a pirouette on the edge of
the world. Time is a harness tying your words to your actions but
cutting the cord won't hide your responsibility from the kids
house-sitting your mind when you sleep. The grass will know when the
leaves stop mid-flight, and the snow will know when it turns to hale in
your wake.

Here's my poetry. The good, the bad, the downright horrendous. Take it for what it's worth. If you choose to critique it, be brutal. Poets of interest: William Shakespeare, E.E. Cummings, Sylvia Pla.. more..
