We Were LostA Poem by Ivy
We were lost, sitting on found blankets beneath the clouds of fillmeup
and iwillsurvive. The trees echoed health class mottoes that gave us something to ignore. I couldn't feel the cold but I could taste the dirt on your knees and the smell the cinnamon on your lips like caution tape the world couldn't throw to the wind. You were the wind herself striking me in the face with the galaxies in your eyes I couldn't find in the skies but from that moment on, I've always tried. © 2011 Ivy |
