If There Was No God...A Poem by MaximusA World Without Purpose And Love.
If there was no God, I surely would despair,
For in His absence, what would guide us fair? Our moral compass lost, confused and frayed, The world in chaos, darkness would pervade. If there was no God, would love exist at all? No higher power to hold us when we fall. No bond eternal, no souls intertwined, Just fleeting moments, love left undefined. If there was no God, what meaning would there be? No purpose or direction to set us free. No divine love to warm our weary souls, Life would be but futile, reaching empty goals. If there was no God, would we long for more? No ultimate truth, no God we could adore. No sense of wonder, no questions left to find, Our curiosity, forever left behind. Yet paradoxically, in this very quest, Questions arise, doubts stir within our chest. For if there was no God, how would we even know? Can finite minds grasp what's beyond and below? So I ponder on, twirling in this uncertain dance, Seeking solace, yearning for a divine glance. Each moment passing, a cycle in time, Seeking answers, with words that deeply rhyme. For if there was no God, I cannot help but feel, That life would lack a depth that's truly real. Through repetition and introspective thought, We glimpse eternity, the love that God has brought.
