Sea Of Pain.A Poem by MaximusAn Eternal Life.
Upon the cross, He hung in shame,
His precious blood, a crimson stain, A crown of thorns upon His head, His wounded hands, they bled, they bled. His weeping mother knelt in grief, Her heart consumed by deep belief, Her soul torn by the anguish deep, For her Son's pain, no words to speak. The sky grew dark, the earth did shake, As Jesus' body, it did break, Nails pierced His feet, nails pierced His wrists, In agony, He could not resist. With every breath, His strength did wane, The weight of sin upon Him laid, Yet still He prayed, "Father, forgive, For they know not the life they live." The soldiers mocked, the crowd jeered on, Unaware of what they had done, For in this act, they sealed their fate, Condemned themselves to endless weight. And yet, amidst this sea of pain, Love's light did shine, love's hope remained, The Son of God, the Lamb, the Christ, Surrendered all for eternal life. In death's embrace, His love was shown, A love so deep, a love unknown, For through His pain, salvation grew, His sacrifice, for me and you. So let us pause, reflect, and see, The gift of grace upon that tree, For in His death, we find our breath, In His Love, we find no death.
