Trapped In LonelinessA Poem by MaximusThis poetry describes the loneliness with its effects.
In solitude, the void does start to fill,
As time goes by, the heart begins to break. Loneliness, like shadows, creeps with skill. Love came once, but now it seems so still, The memories of warmth, a faded ache. In solitude, the void does start to fill. Each day, a hour spent on empty will, As days turn into years, the heart so weak. Loneliness, like shadows, creeps with skill. The passage of time, a bitter thrill, No hands to hold, no voice for solace's sake. In solitude, the void does start to fill. The world outside moves on, yet seems surreal, While I remain, a prisoner of my mistake. Loneliness, like shadows, creeps with skill. Time slips away, and yet I'm standing still, A vessel, empty, adrift on sorrow's lake. In solitude, the void does start to fill. Loneliness, like shadows, creeps with skill.
