When Love Refuses.A Poem by MaximusA Sonnet of Refused Love.
When love refuses, darkness fills my heart,
Its absence tears my soul and leaves me lost, A sea of sorrow, deep and black, its cost, For love was once the light that set apart. I weep and mourn, my days consumed with pain, The very air I breathe feels cold and bleak, A lover's touch upon my cheek I seek, But love, alas, refuses to remain. Oh, cruel love, why do you turn away? I gave my all, my heart, my very being, Yet still you chose to leave, my soul now free. But in the depths of my despair, I pray, That love shall find me, heal my heart while seeing, That love refused can never truly be. For in the absence of love's gentle kiss, The world grows dim, devoid of joy and bliss, But still I strive, in hope, to find release. I wander through the darkness, seeking light, With every step, my love, I grow more strong, For in this battle, I can't be wrong, I am the hero of this endless fight. Though love may refuse, I'll never give in, I'll chase it down, through storms and gales so harsh, For even when love leaves, my soul's still marred, And so, I'll write my verse, my voice, my plea, To conquer love, to capture it once more, For love refused can never truly be.
