Lost In The City's Heights.

Lost In The City's Heights.

A Poem by Maximus
"

When a love gets lost in the city.

"
In the heart of the city, where dreams collide,
Love once bloomed, but now it hides,
Amidst the chaos and the neon lights,
A love story fades, lost in the city's heights.

Once upon a time, two souls entwined,
In a world where love was easy to find,
But as the city grew, so did its strife,
And love became a casualty of city life.

In the bustling streets, where strangers pass,
Love's tender whispers turned to whispers of the past,
The city's noise drowned out their heartfelt cries,
And love's flame flickered, then slowly died.

The city's rush, its constant demands,
Left no room for love to take a stand,
In the concrete jungle, where hearts grow cold,
Love's vibrant colors turned to shades of old.

The city's lights, so bright and grand,
Could not illuminate love's fragile strand,
For in the shadows, it withered away,
Lost in the city's relentless sway.

The city's walls, so tall and strong,
Kept love imprisoned, where it didn't belong,
In the maze of buildings, love lost its way,
And the city's grip grew stronger each passing day.

But amidst the chaos, a glimmer remains,
A flicker of hope, a love that sustains,
For love cannot be vanquished by city's might,
It lingers in the corners, waiting for the right.

For love is resilient, it knows no bounds,
It can be found in the city's bustling sounds,
In the laughter of strangers, in a gentle touch,
Love finds a way, it never asks for much.

So let us not forget, in this city so vast,
That love can endure, it can forever last,
Though it may get lost, in the city's strife,
Love will always find a way to ignite.

I remember the Bronx...I was too young to have love, but from what I remember of it, love might end up getting beaten up in the subway...or run over in the traffic.
But love will ignite regardless, just might burn out too soon.
I like this and am surprised there are so many views but no reviews.

I remember NY City's relentless sway.
