MasksA Poem by JManhertzBeen dealing with a lot lately and poetry has helped me vent some of what I'm feeling. I coped for many years in unhealthy ways. As a teen, Writing was a big passion. Here's another piece. We hide behind so many mask Unsure of any questions we should ask The color, the symbolism, the design is not as important Because what we feel is a huge assortment We never really show our emotion All we really worry about is loyalty and devotion A mask for pain and hurt and confusion I ask myself is life just a illusion? We spend years trying to find our mate Til death do us part, Til we reach the pearly gate But what really do we hide behind our mask That's a question you should really ask We should take the time to understand each other Sort our feelings and emotion, that's just all a clutter But honestly that's something that we never give attention When all is said and done is when we seek reflection My advice to you is to take off those masks In life and love you should explore and bask Don't be afraid to ask and express yourself Take all those mask and store them high on a shelf Make sure it's a place where you could never return Just live what you love, indulge in what you yearn © 2022 JManhertzAuthor's Note
