I Hope It Was Worth ItA Poem by ChelleA poem dealing with being heartbroken ~ I'm sure many can relateYou were something I thought more One of the most meaningful When you were mine You gave me all I could ever ask And wanted nothing but my heart in return And so without doubt I found you worthy of all my trust And I put my fragile heart in your hands You cared for it as you promised Until the very end You were one of the best I had But your ending was the worst When you broke my heart You killed me with mercy You brought up my hopes To crush it with ease You cared for the lamb As you prepared it for slaughter Your lies only originated from care All in all your heart was in the right place while you broke mine I’m so cold Inside Because of you This break took the longest to recover And still I’m not quite whole I was cast from heaven into hell While those events damaged my mental health And your reasons I never got to know I will probably never know why I hope it was worth it making me cry I hope it was worth it leaving me behind I hope it was worth all those truths You transformed into lies I hope it was worth making my heart something other men Will have to go through hell to find I hope it was worth it to let us die
