Kiss Me AwakeA Poem by ChelleA poem about loneliness while impatiently waiting for true love to come around.Caught in the midst Of others in bliss Where happiness glows From every corner A sigh escapes While I observe What I have yet To find Denied the company Of someone who Could satisfy my craving I close my eyes And drift away Where needs are met Unrealistically There he finds me There I'm held There I can pretend But here I'm lost Worn from searching Now I'm waiting Endlessly "Come to me" I want to plead I want to scream So that he hears And yet hope lingers Upon the silver chain Where the clasp Has come around to the front It brings a message From my prince "I'm thinking of you" "I'm looking for you" "One day I'll find you" But how much longer Will I wait Until I can be safe In your arms? How much farther Must I go Until I can See your face? How many dreams Will you appear in Until you kiss me Awake? I want to know. I want to see. I want to hope. I want to believe.
