You Don't Know Me

A poem that focuses on the hardship of false judgment and labeling.

You don’t know me.

Those words you throw,

let loose off your tongue

so easily

have no relation 

to who I am.

So why do you

plaster

my name onto these

wretched labels

that don’t describe me?

Why do you

judge

a person whom you have

rarely to never

even bothered to

speak with?

Since when am I that name?

Since when have I done those things?

And why do you go

out of your way

to make someone

you don’t know

feel so worthless?

This is beautifully written, I love how it flows so easily, and can relate to the poems content. You have written down the nature of abuse, and the poem really speaks to me. If only people read our poetry and realised that words do hurt! Keep it up, it's brilliant!

Definitely, maybe it changes us as people to see the reality of things. Maybe it makes us all the better at describing situations in the realist possible way. We don't see it through rose tinted goggles as most see it through!

Oh, no I don't. I wish. I live in the South Eastern portion of the United States. It has its perks but also its not-very-prideful qualities~

Oh okay, the States sounds great! I wish I lived there, England has it's perks but also it's downfalls.

Really? England has always seemed like such an amazing place to be. For one, all of you speak the language of English with a more proper manner. Plus, the environment itself seems so beautiful. I can't imagine anyone from such a place wishing to come to a place such as the States.

Oh really? No England can be awful especially some of the people that live here. That is true but people still speak in slang and can't talk properly. I do love England but at the same time I also hate it. I'd quite like to live somewhere like Copenhagen for some reason. I just wrote another poem but it needs a lot of work so I'll probably work on it tomorrow, have a look, if you have any ideas then let me know. I'm struggling with it today.

Yeah, luckily I live in a nice part of England but still half an hour on a train from London which is always good and thank you!
