Hourglass

Hourglass

A Poem by Eli

Hourglass,
Make it fast,
Hour passed the original plan.
Not like you ever cared,
Or took the time to understand.

I'm grown,
Content on doing things on my own.
No more child,
Ravenous wild,
A concrete structure of faces,
Mesmerizing infinite spaces.

Only one of my kind,
Fell into the daily grind,
Of loving nothing else but the power,
That we gain in hatred every hour.
The world,
Crowded with emptiness.
So distant, a constant heaviness,
Burdened with the familiar ache of time.
Get out of the way,
If you're going to repeat the same old lines.

This place,
Remote and subdued,
Hearing news, quite confused.
Buried alive with the hatchet,
No easy way to conclude.

The trees,
Lose their leaves,
The more we fill our hearts with greed,
But rest at ease,
With the souls you bleed,
Deep inside earths core.
No sympathetic virtue,
For all you don't take account for.

Cancerous cigarette,
Lying television set,
A hoax to cloak mass chaos.
I hope for all the lives you spent,
That it was worth the pay off.
