Pound Generation

Pound Generation

A Poem by Isolophobe
"

My quasi-revolution

"

Kerouac, Ginsberg, and Burroughs started the

Beat generetion

I want to start the pound generation

So I'll need active participats such as

Poets musicias and all people who've ever

Felt so insignificant that they knew

We needed a difference

If you're a patriot, please forgive this

But we won't be establishing this by voting

I say F**k Obama, McCain, Both Bushes

And Clinton

The Government hasn't helped the populace it governed

Now or when it created that hypocritical declaration

Of Independence

I don't believe the war on terror and Semptember 11th

Were pure coincidence

Nor entirely related events

At least not in the way they want us to

Think of it

But I digress because I know some of the best minds of

Ours and all time are and have been impatient

I want you to help me help every kid who has ever woke up

To lazy sleeping parents

Stood in their doorway

Wishing they'd die

Because he can still see the tear stains

On their pillow caused by some C-

And knows they worry too much

As evidenced by last night

Which was just the normal night

With both parents being

Short tempered malmannered and long winded

As they spew hot air that whipped his self-confidence

Out of shape

Only to justify it afterwards like

You just can't be out of breathe before you run the rat race

Help me help every virgin who ever wanted to be

Castrated and have a vasectomy

Because they knew the empty space

Lying in bed, hogging all the sheets,

Would be the only sleeping company

They'd ever have

Help me help every musician

That has something to say

Be the voice that the people

Without the opportunity to listen

Will hear

Help me get better at being me

Help me help every human

Devoid of religion feel like

They're the god they needed to

Worship all those years they

Phrased their prayers in a language

The guy in the sky couldn't

Comprehend

Help me help every sane person

Realize they too have a bit of insanity in them

And it won't go away just because they

Have an agenda for as many days

As the calander's eyes can see

Help me help every lonely woman

Every lonely man

Every lonely child

Understand they never truly had company

And they never needed any

Now nor then

Help me write this statement of intent

Help me.

I've been trying to put something into words for a very long time. You know, the nagging, empty other half of the bed. I think you did it perfectly.
