Sustenance

Sustenance

A Poem by Isola

Your laughter washes me
in golden light
and silver haze

spilling a tidal wave
lifting me above
the weight of rock
assault of words
streets and alleyways
stained in blood

Nothing more I need
but this I do
a highway
in the desert of the world

Your laughter the water
baptizing me
the sacramental bread
of our communion
wreathes us
in fragrant garlands
the sustenance I breathe

drawing to earth
the light of Heaven

How uplifting are these words. If that laughter can do that for you, you have surely hit the jackpot. Very nicely described Isola. Thank you.
