Pageant

Pageant

A Poem by Isola

An endless carousel it seems
this masquerade of dreams
where wanton pucks and phantoms stray
and shadows dance against the sun

But every flicker is a flame
fervent vision in the veins
torches through illusion’s bend
broken becomes whole again

This carnival shall some day end
veneer and paint will peel away
revealing who is foe or friend
night will scatter from the day

Even day will need no sun
streaming Heaven’s light above
everlasting radiance and love
