Photography

A Poem by Alexis
"

A little insight into photographing high school

"
Being a photographer can be difficult, because no matter how clear or fast the picture is taken, you cannot fully understand the emotion behind it.
When I take photos for something and people see the lens in front of my face stop what they're doing and pose with a smile.
But that is not what I there for, I am there to capture the unseen emotion that those people don't want you to see.
Not everyone can see the anger behind the helmet or the reaction after the play.
Not everyone can see how hard these people work to get where they are, how close a team is on and off the field.
A photo is not posed, a photo is mid-laugh, tears down the face when the clock runs out, spacing out where is nothing to pay attention to.
A photo something that is taken when you are too into your feelings to notice me to capture the moment.
But only the photographer and the subject can fully understand the emotion in the photo, or else it would have not been taken for everyone else to see.
My job is to tell a story that means something one way or other.
