My friend

come and sit
a while with me
let’s speak of the things
we hold inside

we don’t have to agree
you and me
but I’ll learn something
and so will you

we’ll feel
something real
even though it’s tough
& you’ll have my respect

when did we stop
talking like this
too busy watching
the re-run

we are different
you and I
but we are the same
my friend.

Friends, true friends are hard to come by. Friendships need to be nurtured. It's OK to have friends with differing views. They are likely to be more honest with you. How wonderful it is to be able to have a heart to heart and share with a friend. Lovely poem Izzy. True friendships are priceless.

ahahaha gotta love Captcha ... ;) yes! in discussing divisive issues one comes fairly quickly to know that the one will not sway the other ... a great time to simply say ... respect ... and we do not agree ... and isn't that loverly :)))))))))))))) i use to value passion brought to a subject .. but have changed my mind ... passion seems to work against the acceptance of the "same" part ... which really is soooooooooo much more important ... wonderful sitting down with you Hip Girl! goooooooood stuff says i!

it is best when friends are different..they complement each other...and good to have friends who don't always agree with us to make us feel good...honest friends are the best and most long lasting..
