The English Gentleman

The English Gentleman

A Poem by Island Hippy
"

Papa

"
Did you find her?
You called her your island dream
And you her English gentleman
Departed too soon
You two

His eyes are yours as are mine
The softest kindest blue
I see them when I gaze pon him
Mine aren’t so bright now
They are misty and gray

I hope you found her
Dear English gentleman
There at heavens gate.

Mahalo flaco I appreciate your visit.
A very moving tribute written with love and sensitivity and a deep sense of loss.

Your love in homage to your father is palpable. Each word is a beat of your heart. Beautiful!

You epitomise everything in life.
Your own special bond, who's hopefully bouncing about. But also the departing bond who shaped your own life.
Sad and beautiful at the same time.

beautiful eulogy to two most important people :( especially how your poem joins the thread of a family's history through the generations ... she has the same eyes ;)

' We are from whence we came, from the love of two people looking for treasure. ' And your dear English gentleman found his Island Dream.

Your words are treasure too. .

Wednesday, 22 November, love and hugs, dear friend.

Mahalo my friend x
Awesome poem my ohana! So touching and tender...” Did you find her?”- tugs at the heart- I ask my mother, “Did you find him?”. I dreamed she did. We look into the eyes of our children and see our parents eyes there as well as our own- “ His eyes are yours as are mine.”- The unbroken circle. Your love for your father, “ The English Gentleman”, honors him as he and your mother look and watch over you and Kalani every day...They are so proud of you both. Blessings! Xoxoxo

Big hugs and aloha back always my ohana! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Xoxo
This is a very sweet, moving poem. The emotions in the words touched me, and made me think of my own father. It's lovely, and very effective.
