Papuan skyA Poem by Island Hippythis distant sky is unlike any sky I have ever gazed hatched in solitude -- i devour the light hours this churning, living breathing energy there is vitality in a beautiful storm, moody- colorful and strange, mist rolls off each wave permitting sun to engage casting streams of light; yellow & burnt orange refracting & bending. distant drums, operatic shrills of singing chanting voices my papuan brothers & sisters dance barefoot in tropical rain, humid and thick with mourning i am a full & heavy heart departing from terminal B. © 2017 Island HippyAuthor's Note
