I saw the most magical sight
a butterfly with magnificent
wings, sky blue, bordering
sunset pink feathering into
emerald, deep and crisp.
This fluttering thing glided
upon my Autumn breath
catching the warmth of my
adoring words. Perching
upon my nose, tickling &
mischievous.
My laughter set her delicate
wings to flight again, adagio
in high definition. She spoke
with a bee in animated voice
bursting with joy for life. The
bee, he hovered captivated
by her beauty. But he could
not find his voice all he felt
was butterflies.
Oh my heavens - this is positively radiant! I absolutely love that this started about actual insects when I had excepted it to be about the belly flip flops!!! Then you dazzled me and brought it right back to my expectation.....once I no longer expected it! How wonderful! Coming to that end was indeed like seeing your butterfly. Magical, to be sure.
The depth of this piece leaves me dumbstruck. Upon reading several times, I can see a gentleman in the shadows, catching sight of this delightful woman, watching her interact with those she meets in passing, how he takes in the details of her glowing personality and brilliant warmth. He is utterly delighted to see her. He is so moved, he cannot even move toward catching her, to step into view, to say hello - she mesmerized him and she never knew it. As her laughter and delight sends her on her way after a brief greeting, he only knows he will not be the same. This has my imagination spinning out of control. An exceptional offering. Thank you for posting it here!

I enjoyed this poem. Made the bee and butterfly come alive to the reader. I love nature. the sea, the lake and the forest and her animals. Last place for peace for us who love her. Thank you my friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome my friend. Nature is our daily free gift.
And how beautiful they are, and how captivating they will be, if only, oh if only, it was me who could see... such beauty. A very beautiful concept here
Butterflies...they hold special meaning in my life. You have written such a beautiful ode to them here. Yes, they do burst with joy and although they are only on this earth for a few short weeks, they bring us such wonderment. Lovely write. Lydi**
