In my youth I followed many, on uncertain shadow feet. They were painters of imagination and magic, fuelled by ancestry and other things. They taught me to dance in the long grass and swim naked in the sea. In the mansions of my spirit; my wheelhouse they did dwell. They consumed my thoughts for prettier things like melia and tiaré. For youth is long gone now, visited in pages of sepia. I am content in my spirit to live simply, give with a full heart and receive with a humble one. On shadow feet I walk and soon we will be three. Planting seeds and weaving new magic.
I can see you draped in fragrant flowers my ohana, as you learned about life from the wise ones. "Shadow feet" is a phrase I have never heard before- it makes a lovely, dancing image. Your words are like a beautiful, lyrical dream. Wonderful write!

This is truly splendid!
It deals with/portrays youth, when you're stuck with life- you don't know the way out, you don't know anything, just like an infant to the world.
The flow is amazing and relatable.
"On shadow feet I walk and soon we will be three. Planting seeds and weaving new magic."
Shadow(I think) means to follow here.

Mahalo duff, thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated
i love this and relate...i followed when i was younger and still trying to figure out who i was, what i wanted to be...but now in my elder years...having found the love of teaching and writing and other things as my path...i find that i have some followers who have adopted me in a sense...and i found contentment in where i am and who i am...there is a certain magic in that.

Mahalo, your appreciate your wonderful comment Jacob :)
This has got such beauty within it Izzy, following others and learning where your true path lies, as those sepia painted memories play out to span a lifetime of knowledge and learning. Hopefully, we get to learn more, for many more years to come and the adventures they bring.

It's the only explanation I've come up with for how we mnage to write something with words we have to check the meaning of to make sure it's right. Either that or the poem fairy brings them :)
