The Master of Motion

The Master of Motion

A Poem by Godwin Isiwu
"

What is invisible yet invincible? Unseen yet acknowledged by the whole world?

"
Flow across the rocks
That hold the sea
Run through the shore
Naked and wet
You're just my slave
Mighty as you are
I'm your driver
Your power was
Pulled from my power

I am the white spirit
Tender as smoke
I push noisy Kings to war
And give them victory in my silence
Invisible like God
Nothing beyond
The strength of the world
More quiet than the sun
I only make a sound
When I yawn
Felt by all in the earth
Even beyond
I ride the oceans
Bowing trees in respect
Splitting rocks apart
Nothing left to retract
I go wherever I chose to go
Whether it is day
or night.

Author's Note

Godwin Isiwu
Figuratively, the writer illustrates the power of wind— in the poem, wind itself (personified) brags about his power, over water.

The wind speaks, unseen yet undeniable, moving oceans, bending trees, and shaping the world. It is both whisper and storm, guiding history without a face. A powerful reflection on nature’s silent sovereignty. In the first stanza, it calls water its slave. Do you think Wind is correct?
