God's Dangerous Weapon

God's Dangerous Weapon

A Poem by Godwin Isiwu
"

When man rebels against his creator, God faces a dilemma—should he wage war against his own creation or use his dangerous weapon?

"
The history of wars
Started when on a certain wake
Man rebelled against his
Own creator

God awake with the angels
to watch the revolution:
God at war with his own creations
Would be most shameful of all notions
A God of wisdom and compassion
Now faced with freedom crazed
human passion:
Man had turned away
from his divine leadership
Like a depressed person spiked
with stimulants
and is building an empire
with unity and a divine mind:
God understands the power
of the divine mind;
The dangerous weapon
Satan had revealed to man

"Lucifer is a coward," Michael said,
"he has given them the divine weapon."
"Lucifer is a traitor," Gabriel said,
"he has given them his divine intelligence."
"Lucifer must be locked up," Uriel said,
"he will lead them to war."
"Lucifer cannot be stopped," Raphael said,
"If we don't get man back in control."

But God was not aggressive and the angels wanted his offensive
They wanted him to act like yesterday, not a single pity on the man or the devil
God knows how it hurts to destroy one's own creations
It is futility to devastate one's own resources
Still God understands the power
of the divine mind;
The dangerous weapon
Satan had revealed to man

Then God spoke out of thunder
And these words reaffirmed his angels:
"I won't go to war with man
In the way of man
Nor destroy the glory
of my own handmade;
I will put confusion within man
And man himself will fight against himself
He will then realize in bitterness
The consequences of hungering for liberty."

And God stretched out his hand
Towards the window of clouds
He spoke words on Babel
the sit of man's new crown
And there was a grave confusion
Among the united leadership
He had changed their languages
And man was separated from another
God understands the power
of the divine mind;
The dangerous weapon
Satan had revealed to man

Ever since then the world
had been in total chaos
Quest for freedom; greed for kingdoms
Wars and tussle; man pay in confusion
He has lost the unity; the sense of divinity
Brotherhood's futility in a war-torn family
His mind has chattered in a self-willed ruin
His mind had crumbled
in the superior hands of his creator

God smiled to himself
and watched man rage against man
He was pleased when at last
Man looked up to his help
The vanquished will ask him for mercy
and the victor will thank him for blessing
All the same he still ruled the world
and they both know his name
He understands the power
of the divine mind;
The dangerous weapon
Satan had revealed to man.

Author's Note

Godwin Isiwu
Based upon a simple narrative, the author uses many techniques to present the poems message. Summarily the poem tells of two dangerous weapons, probably the two most dangerous weapons with which to win any war: unity and confusion. Human, by help of Satan uses one of these to rebel against God, and God on the other hand uses the other to restore control. The poem emphasizes on Satan's interest in using man to lead a major revolution against God by giving them the divine wisdom which means the sense of enlightenment, of divinity, of oneness. God on the other hand, not wanting to be overthrown sends confusion amid man to destroy that sense of divinity and unity. In the end, God won the war resulting in man's vanquish. Today, man is still under God's control and is still paying the ultimate price of living in disarray. Until perhaps man is able to lift the curse of confusion and disunity by re-uniting with one another or repent and submit entirely to the will of God, he will, indefinitely, continue to pay the painful price.

In my own view, this poem is the most exceptional masterpiece I've ever read. This is pure philosophy.
