Forever My Best

Forever My Best

A Poem by Isidora
"

At the insistance (and in the spirit) of my best friend, I present my little poem on my 'forever friend'...

"

Once upon a time, I found friends.
These friends surrounded me,
And soothed me with promises,
With pretty words and sweet sounds.

These friends soon moved on;
Life prodded them along,
And their religions told them to go.

Of a dozen, one friend remained.
This friend refused to go,
Even when I begged her to.

She gives me promises she keeps,
Even when I don't do the same.
She always sees the best in me,
Even when I only see the demons.
She shares her secrets with me,
Even when I don't understand.
She's still so beautiful toward me,
Even though I'm so ugly toward her.

She's always promised me that
She'll always be my friend;

She's always shown me that

She'll always be my friend.

aw, that's such a bittersweet poem. Sweet because one of your friends is still with you and bitter because the others left. I love this piece, and you have such a knack for writing beautiful moving poetry so effortlessly. I wish I could write like you can. Keep writing, and never let your friends go.

'And their religions told them to go.'

Oh gosh, the blonde tornadoes...they were really dumb. The male one actually had the gall to tell me that he had to 'protect' his sister from things like that. I mean, seriously.

Anyway, I really like this poem. I kinda teared up near the end, but that's just me. You should write more happy poems like this, they suit you much better than depressing ones, though you can write both well. So, write whatever kind of poems that inspire you, I suppose. :)
