A love forbidden

A love forbidden

A Poem by Ishwar Grewal

I was on my way to finally pour out my heart to you,

Holding my heart’s love with both hands,

Hiding and protecting it from the world,

On my way I stumbled upon nature,

“Stop right there! Nothing against nature passes through this way!”

“Show me what is it in your hands hidden?”

“It is the love I have for my beloved!”

“Love....!!  Every tiny bit of nature was created with love!”

“You are free to pass, Off you go!”

As I walked down through the beauty of nature,

I stumbled upon a wise man,

“I know all the holy scriptures by heart!”

“Nothing against the scriptures passes through this way!”

“Show me what is it in your hands hidden?”

“It is the love which made me believe in miracles and magic!”

“Hmmm... We all are God’s miracle, His essence and He is the greatest Magician!”

“What you are holding is His essence too”

“You are free to pass, Off you go!”

As I walked through with a smile on my face,

I stumbled upon an Angel,

“Stop right there! Nothing evil passes through this way!”

“Show me what is it in your hands hidden?”

“It is love not evil. It is pure and untouched by wicked.”

“Interesting.... I hardly see such kind of innocent and real love in the present”

“There is nothing immoral about your love, so I cannot hold you or stop you!”

“So off You go! You may pass through but...”

“But you are brave, Brave because it demands courage to walk through this path, go on now”

Pondering on why angel said that, I walked on,

At last when I was about to reach you,

I stumbled upon three masked men,

One of caste, one of gender and one of race,

“We are the protectors of this human society, nothing against it passes through this way!”

“Show us what is it in your hands hidden?”

“It is my heart’s love, pure and harmless. Nothing against the human society!” I said with a smile.

“Show us what is it in your hands hidden?” they asked again.

As I upheld my hands to show them my heart’s love,

They thundered in anger!

“Go back! Go back through the same path!”

I held my hands tight again near my chest, trying to keep my love safe!

“You cannot pass through!” they condemned.

“Because the love hidden in your hands is forbidden!”

This is a great story and one i agree with... It is more a reflection of society these days how so little of it is congruous to human nature we are (humanity) being pushed by the wayside in the name of society that is supposed to be about humanity... being distorted and confusing the masses of what we are leaving a huge vacuum in its wake:)

thank you :)
A sad story written my friend.
“Go back! Go back through the same path!”
I held my hands tight again near my chest, trying to keep my love safe!
“You cannot pass through!” they condemned.
“Because the love hidden in your hands is forbidden!”
It is sad when love isn't possible because of ancient belief. Powerful and worthwhile story shared.
