Archway Flies

Butterflies ascend into thining space

they do so for lack of love's embrace

Reapers wouldn't understand the price that i would pay

to cover mid-flight skies

in cavernous black lace

ascencion comes to my attention

everly deft and clear

leaves me soulless fear

but perfection can't express detail

of a purple spotted swallowtail

in wish that they'd reverse their path

and perch in windows ponderous

to return the happiness I lack.
