The winter's cold

The winter's cold

A Poem by Wally1173
"

A dark, metaphorical description of the winter

"
Cold snow is all around, the breezy wind does blow
White and cold snow on the ground, why; no-one does know

The ground is cold and wet, deadly beyond eye’s reach
The colder it is, the deadlier it’ll get, walking on it, you hear its speech

Of death and cold it does speak, so long, dreadful talk is nigh
Some information of death does leak, as the snow grows high

In the house you rest your soul, body and mind
To go out is not your goal, for the winter isn’t kind

During its reign people shall die, food will perish
On the cold ground death is shy, your soul, its wish

Knowing this, supplies we gather, fires we light
For this time cold and death we must fight

We must not argue, death is near, we must stand bold
Alas, we refuse to do so, but that is the only way to survive… The winter’s cold
