Rain

Rain

A Poem by Wally1173

Lo, the rain. It falls from the the gray sky
Lo, the rain. Many men love it, and so do I

The atmosphere is gray, the air is wet
It is no longer April or May, but it isn't autumn yet

Countless drops, for hours it falls
Now the sunshine stops, for autumn calls

Through my window I watch, that gray beauty
Opening it up a notch, I feel as if it's my duty

The winds blow strong, nature's cold breath
At me they blow for so long, what approaches is death

Looking at the distance, it's everywhere
As I hold my stance, I feel in the air

Damned life, why must you be so cruel?
For in this life, death I await like a fool

The winds blow stronger, the rain falls faster
Day is not any longer, the storm calls for a disaster

Windows are breaking, doors are breaking
I stand tall, my back aching, it's all so breathtaking

Windows break off, as I stand in disbelief
Letting out a short cough, I lay on the ground in relief

Death approaches, it's gotten very near
My time has come, I still have no fear

The ground is cold, the sky is gray
I will be bold, for the final price now I pay

My final breaths, death gives me no space
Life leaves me, as the final raindrop hits my face.
