Full Throttle

Full Throttle

A Poem by Isaiah Jacob Barber

Back again

To write again

Another romance

Let’s dance

We’re going full throttle

Peddle to the medal

On this saddle

Charge into battle

Fight till the break of dawn

From dusk till dawn

The war rages on

It’s where we belong

On the grains of sand

Every day we stand

In the arena called life

And all this strife

We fight each other

In a sand storm

We bleed together

Through every storm

It doesn’t stop

We drop

A shot in the dark

The spark is hot

A burning furnace

In the darkness

We need to rise

To fight the darkness

Hold on tight

To bring to light

Everything that’s good

If we could, we should

Step up the game

We have a name

Let it be intense

Our sixth sense

Let us go

Where we go

In the fray

We fight today

With no more sorrow

Let’s fight like there’s no tomorrow

Journey to the dark meadow

Going full throttle, peddle to the medal
