Human Faultlines

Human Faultlines

A Poem by Isadora Swift
"

My first teacher called disorders out 'natural human faultlines' Anorexia (Ana) Bulimia (Mia) Schizophrenia (Soph) Self harm (Cat) Suicide (Sue)

"
"Ana!" I'd scream when they said I was fat,
and soon by my side, there, was she sat.

"Mia!" I'd call when the going got rough,
She'd hold me and teach me how to look tough.

"Soph!" I'd cry when she got in my head,
"We are as one forever." she always said.

"Cat!" I'd whisper for, when all else failed,
Proving at last, I had finally, been derailed.

At the end of the evening,
When Sue called to say,
"I'm here for you darling"
I begged for her to stay.
And said, when I had pushed through it all,
"She's there to catch me whenever I fall"

I think what people don't realise,
Is that when your alone,
Anything can get in your head,
and call it their home.

Author's Note

Isadora Swift
Took my five minutes, not finished, second to last stanza needs work.
I like writing about disorders, and without sounding weird (I hope), I find them much easier to write about.

oh my gosh, such a dark yet beautifully written art of work! You made it sound so beautifully sad, and it got to me right away. I can relate to a lot of them, and I know exactly how easy it is to believe the people in your head. It's such a sad yet enticing read, loved it! Keep it up girrrl!
