La Laverie

La Laverie

A Poem by Isadora Cupcake

Stained & soiled
Thread bare fabric
Mud caking your soul
Let me cleanse your worries & scrub your woes

Memories grimy thick
Leaking into your being
Hang your psyche out in the sun
I'm your clothes pin

Bring your couch-change
The launderette is open
Not for a quick tumble dry
I'll steam-press old wrinkles

Blotches spot a mottled heart
Raveled & frayed & smudged
An old jacket with new bling
Let me be your stain-remover
