Perfection In Imperfection

Perfection In Imperfection

"

A quick poem I threw together about how everyone seeks perfection in an imperfect life. Nothing is every perfect nor will it ever be. We just need to learn to embrace our imperfections.

Perfection In Imperfection

By Cierra K Scott

You can believe in pain,

Or you can choose to embrace it.

You can believe in suffering,

Or you can choose to end it.

Nothing in this world is easy,

No one said it would be.

We're so hellbent on perfection,

That we forget life is made up of lessons.

We're so enticed by wants,

That we forget about what we need.

Our hearts are set on what we believe to be our future,

That we don't see the opportunities right in front of us.

We're flawed with the beauty of imperfection,

But we see it as a bad omen.

We take everything we want,

But we give nothing back.

Humanity has fallen apart,

leaving behind it's true meaning to be sane.

We've given up our dignity,

And traded it for a shameful way of living.

We're perfectly flawed humans,

Who seek perfection of another standard.

Our injustice actions cause destruction,

And our hearts forever live a lie of eternity.

There is no perfection in our imperfect way of living.

this is lovely... you know, I find the moon to be lovely as well and look at its scars... to me it shows us every night the very truth displayed in this work... though covered in craters of crushing impacts it remains the beauty of the night... I wrote a parable about this a while back and planned on posting it in the near future. Anyhow, again a wonderful pen you have here.

Having the knowledge and the grace to accept this is a sign of true maturity. This is a nicely written poem, I like it a great deal.

Thank you! :D
This is a very true and lovely poem, well thought out. If you are seeking suggestions, I would perhaps experiment with its form to have a pattern or a style.

Thank you!
I have issues with the word perfect - mainly due to my view that it is a human construct as a goal to strive towards but never truly obtainable. Too many people use the word much like they throw around the word love and yet don't understand it.

I hope you take to more poetry - this is quite good.
