meat

meat

A Poem by Isabelle
"

my thoughts are consuming me

"
She was lost in a ripple of dark wonder
A shooting star flickered in the depths of her consciousness
It lit a path to her mind, like a silver sunrise
For a moment she could see where she wanted to go
Towering snow capped peaks
A child with marker stained fingers
The lingering scent of cinnamon
A wrinkled apple tree
But in that moment, something hideous slithered by
It was only a glimpse, but it infected her mind
It tore through her honey glazed soul like a slice of meat
Her skin bubbled and blackened
She screamed in agony while it ripped her apart
She melted into the darkness like black tar
Memories of those beautiful things remained
But they were hidden by a blanket of darkness
A shiny tear fell, sparking a shooting star

Your thoughts are the powerful tools to help in writing. Words heal in the end. Your words are truly healing for a person going through mud of desires and life. Well written. Do well.
