No resolution without a Revolution

No resolution without a Revolution

A Poem by Isabelle S.
"

Wondering about how hatred takes over our actions and beliefs, and where it stems from. Why is there so much hatred in this world?

"

Hatred stems from irrational fears

no act is a desperate for its desires is to fuel the fires

which burn within our darkest hearts

It feeds off of starvation, craving to be consumed and fed

In this repeated cycle revolving around the globe

This parasite corrupts the pure

It festers and lingers

The only way to escape its grasp

Is by shaking its hand

even it cuts you until you bleed in its web.

Ah I really enjoy the sentiment to your ending here - I've seen other work that explores the link between fear and hatred, and I appreciate your notion that you have to shake hands with it, perhaps even at your own expense, in order to see it put to bed.

Though I don't think we like admitting it, hatred, or loathing, are things that many of us have felt, and I think you're right in illustrating that forgiveness is often the antidote.

In my case, it can be hard to allow others to walk over me, and though I know it's healthier to put retaliation to bed, I still have a hard time doing so - even if only for my own sake.

Anyways, thought provoking post here Isabelle - I enjoyed the journey you took me on.
