We both kept quiet for a long time. We didn't know what to say to her. George was an idiot and I know that Becky and him didn't get a long either, but the guy was in the same league as Lucian when it comes to his looks. Hot as hell with dimples like Sammy's.
"George" Sammy asked and Becky fell on her bed and cried.
"Okay, that sucks" was the only appropriate thing to say. It's the truth in some way because she doesn't like George one bit. She is really upset that he was the only Moon-bolt available. Tears were streaming down her face and Becky was not a soft crier. She looked comical and I couldn't hold my laughter anymore.
"Elena" Sammy sings and I know I was way out of line.
"I am sorry" I snort and the tears were starting to run down my cheeks. Sammy and Becky joined me after a while and felt that a good laugh was just we needed after the tonight. She sigh.
"Can we please just talk about something else" she begs.
"How was the kiss Elena" Sammy asks again and this time it worked . Becky got all excited as I explain to them how perfect it was. It helped me too by reliving it and felt better when I finished.
"I told you he likes you" Becky chirps.
"Excuse me, I told her that he likes her" Sammy snaps back and we just laugh.
I went to bed and wonder how Sammy felt now that she knows her best friend is not a fire fighter.
We woke up and find Becky combing out her hair ferociously. Spark still runs down her hair and it's amazing that it doesn't burn her hair. So that is what it looks like when someone is immune to an ability.
I started to laugh again and she throws me with her brush. At least she was a good sport for jokes.
When we enter the cafeteria everyone just stared at Becky.
"Hell, news travels fast" Sammy says as loud as she could and some faces ducked behind their friends and some turned around.
We discovered that there was other Moon-bolts too because every single one threatens her to stay away from them. She was relieved and glad that she had other options than just George. Lucian looked better than last night and was happy when he found me. The entire cafeteria knew that something had happened between us last night because he greeted me with a kiss. It is scary how everything just disappears when ever his lips touches mine. A lot of guys mocks Lucian and wish that I could brush it off as easy as he does. Becky comes back from the buffet line and I had to suppress my laughter again.
"You gave us a heart attack last night" Lucian said sounded worried and I burst out laughing again.
"Elena, stop it" Sammy bumps me hard in my ribs while trying desperately to control her laughter too. Becky rolls her eyes getting irritated and could feel Lucian staring at me.
"Am I missing something here" he asks softly and I snort again showing him not now.
"Oh common Lucian. Don't tell me that my hair standing in every direction is not one bit funny" and he chuckles softly. "I have to listened to these two's jokes since last night."
"That is so mean" he tried to make us feel bad but chuckles too.
I took a deep breath.
"Sorry Becky, I will try my best to control it."
"Whatever Elena. If it was you I would have break myself in two."
"Becky," a third year just walked over sounding serious but had to suppress his laughter as well. "Master Longwei wants to see you in his office pronto."
"Why?" It was the end of our jokes.
"Don't know he just ask me to fetch you" he replies and walks away.
"You want us to come with you" Sammy asks.
"No, you guys took a lot of beating last night. I guess it is my turn" she sulks and got up. We just look at her walking out of the cafeteria.
"I hope that it is nothing bad" I said thinking of how mean Master Longwei can be.
"I guess we just have to wait and see" Lucian says and stroke my back softly. We left the cafeteria hand in hand when the bell rang. He said goodbye with a kiss as we reached my class and runs off to his. I took a satisfying breath feeling like some sort of fairytale character that just found her prince. I did literally.
I was starting to get worried through Enchantments when Becky wasn't back yet. It was the period before lunch time and struggled to concentrate, not that I understood one word anyway. At lunch time I found Lucian and Sammy comforting her at a table outside.
"What happened, what did he say?" I was upset as I plunge down on a pillow next to Lucian. She tried to tell me but she stuttered too much and then bawled again as if somebody died.
"The Seer told Master Longwei about a foretelling, it is about George. His Dragonian will be struck by lightning" Lucian answered.
"She thinks it's you?" and they both nod their head while Becky blows her nose in a hanky.
"They are going to force me to claim George, Elena" she bawls again.
"You are part of a foretelling" I got what she was saying and her lower lip vibrates, confirming my question.
"One that means absolutely nothing. I don't know why I can't refuse" she stutters.
"Because of what it is" Lucian tries to calm her down.
"Wait, you guys know what this means" I ask and they just look at me as if they didn't see the big picture at all. "George is your dent Becky. It is rare, no."
"Oh my word, Elena is right. It hasn't happened for a long time" Sammy sounded exited.
"Me and George" Becky shrieks again. Okay so maybe Becky did see that and was the reason she's like this.
"Calm down girl" Sammy cries and almost stroke her back but remember just in time, not to touch her. "You should embrace this Becky besides he isn't that bad looking."
"It is the absolute worst thing you ever said" Becky shrieks."I am not shallow."
"I didn't mean it like that. Maybe George will change" she defended her reply.
"He is a freaking Moon-bolt. He almost give Elena a heart attack on her first day" she yells. "Kill me now please."
"Calm down Becky. I know it is hard to see the silver lining on this one but maybe Sammy is right. He could change" Lucian tries.
"Not you too" she cries.
"What are you worried about, the fact that it's George or the fact that he is a Moon-bolt" he asks.
"The fact that he's a dickhead. And to make matters worse, he is going to want to hang with us from now on."
"It's going to be fine Becky, if George want to hang with us he just better treat Elena better" Sammy said and there was silence for a short time. We all just burst out laughing.
"It is going to be okay, it's not the end of the world and you rock as a fighter. That dragon won't know what is going to hit him" I try to boost her ego.
"Awe, I wish I could hug you both. You are the best BF's a girl could ask for" Becky snorts while wiping of her tears.
"You really electrify people if they come close" Lucian wants to know and Becky just nods her head. "That is so wicked" and she smiles. I saw it as a perfect moment to grab some lunch.
When I got back Lucian was talking about tricks to claim George and that he would even train her if she wants.
The bell rings again and by the end of day George finally got the bad news. He was really pissed.
"You just stay away from me" he cornered and she pushed him away. We could hear some electricity pass between them but George didn't flinch one bit.
"You think I wanted this. I will rather spend my life with a colony of wyverns before claiming you" and he laughed.
"At least you know where you stand" he reply arrogant.
"As if. Let me rephrase. I will rather die than having you around me" she shouts. He showed off his teeth as if he was a wolverine and race off cussing. "He is such an a*****e, Why did I had to be struck by lightning. I will even claim a Night Villain than George Mills" she sounds furious.
"It's going to be okay Becky. In a couple of days he won't be such an arrogant b*****d" Sammy tries to comfort her but it didn't seems right without the hug.
I have to admit, I couldn't wait for everything to go back to normal. Class without her is really hard. Without her explanations I don't know how I'll pass .
Professor Mia's class was still a nightmare. It felt as if I am going backwards instead of foreword. I struggle to concentrate and I didn't focus on my target either so in short, my a*s got kicked a lot.
For the next couple of days breakfast, lunch and dinner was the same things over again. The girls that liked Lucian finally got the message that he is no longer available. Classes were still the same and the only thing I looked forward to was spending time with Lucian, but was limited because he trains Becky. I got annoyed on the third day. They only talked about fighting. It was really not my thing and found it foreign as they talk about high's, low's and aim's.
During Enchantments, there came an announcement over the school system.
"On Thursday afternoon at two there will be a claim. Rebecca Johnston for the claiming of George Mills" Master Longwei's voice filled the entire school. There came a lot of applause from our class and a lot of good luck whishes. She smiled and was acting different than before. It's as if she got a different personality. It wasn't a bad one, just one that is over confident and scary.
The afternoons were quite boring since Sammy started with her extra activity - who knew a dragon could be into drama. Lucian wanted me to come and look but couldn't stand the slamming of the weapons. It gives me a headache after a couple of minutes so I end up spending my time in the library.
I saw it as time trying to make sense of Paegeia. It was just a waste of time since I couldn't stop to worry about Becky.
I crawled into bed late, scared that I was going to dream again about the woman on the hill. She has been harassing my dreams for the past week and still don't know why I am dreaming of her. At least I don't wake up from it anymore. I just wish that she could tell me what the hell she wants.
The one thing I was glad about was that tomorrow was Thursday and the day that Becky is going to claim George. After that, things will go back to normal. I put off the light and fall asleep faster than I thought and dream about the woman again.
