Nothing made sense of what she just said and I have no idea whether she meant those words for me or for someone else. I went to the room and realized how much her words upset me. Not the freaky demon type one but the conversation that took place before that.
Who does she think she is to say something like that. Her arrogance turns her into an ugly b***h and I am glad that I don't have to see her again.
At one Becky and Sammy found me. "Here you are?" Sammy sings. Her smile drops as she saw the look on my face.
"Oh crap, what did she say."
"It's nothing" I reply furious and both girls sit down on my bed. Just thinking about her session this morning, makes me upset all over again. "You guys could have told me that she is such a snob."
"She is pretty vain" Becky says softly.
"Look, nobody likes her very much accept those that she know is destined to do great things. She treat their sessions like it is the highlight of her day" Sammy says.
"What did she say?" Becky asks this time.
"She said that I don't matter much because my dad was a dragon and dragon children is not destined to wear the mark. I still don't know what that means" I didn't tell them about my mom, I don't have the strength to explain how she left us when I was only a baby and that dad had to raise me all by myself.
I sigh and wipe off a tear.
"The truth" Becky asks. I nod my head.
"You are the first human born with the mark whose father was a dragon. It never happened before and some of the professors here at Dragonia feels that Master Longwei is wasting his time."
"Becky" Sammy interrupts.
"I don't feel that way, I am just telling her how it is."
"I still don't understand" I reply. The mark thing is really confusing.
"Dragonians have both human parents Elena."
"Let me try" Sammy's hand rested nicely on Becky's hand and she smiles. "Having a dragon for a father means that you do have his DNA. Although you don't have a dragon form, you still carries the gene. A part of you are dragon and the reason you can't become a Dragonian" she explain.
I start to understand what she means. It's weird how some stories got it wrong.
"There is a lot of dragon offspring Elena. When dragons fell in love with a human their children are always human and can't bear the mark. You are the first."
"There are others here not born with the mark and nobody tells them that they don't belong."
"They daddy's paid a crap load of money for them to be here. Only the students with the mark is able to come to Dragonia free of charge" Becky chirps.
"That is why they don't think I belong here, because my father didn't pay."
"No. It's because your father is a dragon. They feel that Master Longwei is taking a chance he should not take. I heard that some of the parents which non gifted children are on the waitlist was really pissed with him letting you in. They had this huge argument that you will never ascend and that it's just a birth defect."
"That is what she said too" I blurt out.
"Did her eyes glow when she said it" Sammy wants to know.
I shake my head and pretend that I didn't know that part. "Her eyes glow."
"Yes, then you don't pay attention. I told you she talks a lot of s**t" Sammy answers. We all laugh.
"Do you guys think I am wasting my time, being here."
"Hell no" both shouts in unison and looks at each other, before laughing again.
"Sammy is right, you pay attention when her eyes light up and her hair blows" Becky tries to comfort me. I smile thinking how lucky I am to have roommates that understood. Both protested in a jealous tone when I told them that she doesn't want to see me again.
"I would give my left b**b for her to say those words" Sammy sulks, "but guess being the Rubicon's sister she expects great things from me too."
We went to lunch.
"So how was your first time with the Seer" Lucian asks with a huge grin that would make any girl reveal her deepest secret.
"Shh, we don't mention her" Sammy whispers and his smile disappears.
"That bad."
"It's fine, I just didn't like the way she treated me."
"Elena if her hair didn't blow and her eyes didn't shine, then you don't pay attention to the witch" Lucian jokes. It worked and I chuckle softly. I didn't tell him or anyone about what she did say when the wind blew and her eyes shone.
When the bell rings for class I felt better. Lucian has that effect on me. We said goodbye to him and have to admit, I don't like saying goodbye to Lucian at all. I was already looking forward to dinner.
Both the girls started to tease me like before and I pushed Becky away with my one hand.
Not all the classes were like Professor Gregory and Sir Edwards. They were difficult and each one could have been Latin for all I care. It sure felt like it.
Enchantments was a nightmare equally bad. We had a Professor, named Longchester lecturing the class and my mind wanted to explode as he chants the words we have to say.
Time went fast though and usually by the end of the first week people get a hang of things but here it is just the opposite.
Arts of war was not my thing either. Professor Mia starts to get irritated with me because I kept dropping my sword. I am such a klutz. The only classes I did like was Mysteries and Anatomy. I don't even want to think off Latin and Enchantments. Lucian was great though and my heart stopped literally for a couple of seconds every time he came over to our table.
"So Elena, are you coming with us to the lake tonight" Becky asks as I got into my room after math's. It was the only subject we didn't have together.
"The lake, is it safe?"
"No, but it's fun" Sammy chirps.
"I might end up regretting this but why the hell not" I decided to go and they both clap their hands. It might just be what I need.
"So what's at the lake?"
"A lake" Becky replies.
"You mean we are going to swim" and they both nod their head excitedly. "I don't have a swim suit."
"You can borrow one of mine, no biggy" Becky sings and tips over one of her drawers on her bed that was full of bikinis. It was all kinds of colors and I love the plain black one. It fits perfect.
After dinner we chat so much that Becky completely forgot about the riddle. I have to admit, it was the only thing I might be good at this side.
When the bell rings for us to return to our rooms we slip out the other way. Our bags were stashed by the bedding close to the wooden door. We picked it up and made a run towards Sammy and Becky's sanctuary. It took about fifteen minutes just to get there but I was glad that I didn't chicken out.
With the full moon shining on the lake it looks as if we are going to swim in a mirror. Becky and Sammy yanked off their tops in one second and run straight into the lake still wearing their shorts.
"Common Elena, the water is perfect" Becky yells and didn't like the way the weather was starting to play up.
To hell with it, I decide and follow both the girls lead.
The water felt warm. We enjoyed the splashing and dipped each other's head under water when we heard a rumble in the bushes. I froze again just like a nobody the Seer accuse me off. Flashes of whatever might jump out of there was driving me nuts.
A tall figure with blonde hair and a dark hair boy appeared.
"Lucian! You will give me a freaking heart attack" Becky shouts and my heart was doing double time.
"Why are you scared, you got Sammy here?" he chuckles which makes my stomach flips. I felt how the temperature of the lake goes up by a couple more degrees because of the heat waves bouncing off my body. He took off his shirt and thought I was going to faint. I went under water to cool off, not that it helped one bit. He had a body to die for. I came back up and was glad that his back was towards us. The boy next to him isn't bad looking either.
"Dean long time no see" Sammy flirts.
"Hi Sammy" he flirts back and both the boys make a huge splash jumping in the water. I shriek which didn't make any sense. Dean came up first and jump when Lucian emerges right in front of me. He chuckles again.
"Hallo Elena" Lucian's greets me seductively with a voice as sweet as honey and I couldn't help but to smile. I would do anything for the girls roomers to be true.
"Hi Lucian" I greeted him back shyly and laugh.
"What are you doing here. I thought you are one of the spoil brats that goes home over weekends" it slipped out and don't know where I got the guts from to say that.
He laughs.
"I'm not a spoil brat" he snaps back playfully and splash me with water a couple of times. It stopped when Dean found him and dipped his head under the water. We started to laugh at the two played with each other and it turned out into a big dipping contest. I shriek when Lucian pulls my foot and yank me under water with him. When we got up I was in his arms and my heart was pounding like a bird trapped inside a cage. Our eyes met and he was staring at me with his million dollar smile. It was mandatory to give him one back. His eyes was drilling into my soul and when he found what he was looking for he kissed me softly. I didn't even care about the others that was still there. It was the most amazing first kiss a girl could ask for. And felt as if his mouth were made just for mine. There's no nose or chin in the way. His tongue played with mine and made me want more. He pulls away softly and made a satisfying noise as if he just finished his favorite meal. It made me blush and was glad that it was night time.
"I wanted to do that for a long time" he whispers softly as he wrapped his arms around me tighter. Somehow my legs were around his waist and feel like such a big ho. "I hope that you don't mind."
"Oh, you would have known if I did" I joke and he laughed. My teeth scraped my lower lip and he made another growling sound while staring at me. The lightning rumbles as he wanted to kiss me again.
"I think we should call it a night" he whispers softly and saw Becky and the others busy walking out the lake. We swim to them and felt really insecure that I wasn't wearing a short like Becky and Sammy. I ran for my towel and could hear him chuckling behind me.
Thunder hit a nearby tree and I shriek. It made a red spark and was really scary.
Lucian laughed, but when he saw Becky on the ground, everything changed.
The electricity that emerge out of her body told me that it's bad. Lucian darts towards her and I become a pillar with huge eyes staring at my friend.
"Don't touch her Sammy" he roars.
"But Lucian!"
"Touch her and your a*s is fried too. Elena go get Constance and Master Longwei" Lucian yells at me but my feet was nailed to the floor. "Elena! Now!"
Fear let go and I ran as fast as I could to the office I only seen once. Half way through I realized that I was sobbing, making it difficult to see the path. I found the main building and opened the door with a yank. My legs and lungs were burning and I was heaving like a hoofer, as I reach Master Longwei office.
I didn't even knock on the door and thank my lucky stars when I barged in he was decent. "Master Longwei come!"
"Elena, why are you wet" he asks with a pot of tea in his hands. It turned into anger when he saw me in my flops and only the towel wrapped around me.
"Please there is no time to explain, just come" I cried.
He called Constance over the phone. My tone must have alert him that something must have gone wrong. We ran back down the stairs towards the lake and met her half way carrying a doctors bag.
"Elena the lake is off limits at nights" Master Longwei roars.
"I am sorry sir, Becky said it will be fine."
My legs and lungs started to burn again but I just kept running, afraid that it might already be too late. "Becky knows the rules, she should have known better. What happened?" he asks in a bouldering tone. I couldn't speak.
"Elena, we need to know what happened" Constance tried.
"Lightning" I yell back. The minute I said the word it was as if Master Longwei and Constance found a turbo gear and left me behind.
When I finally got there I heard Master Longwei's scolding at Lucian and the others.
"Becky, you should know better" he roars and when I came into sight where she was last on the ground, having a thousand electricity volts running through her, she was standing.
"March" Master Longwei roars again at all of them.
"What happened" I ask Lucian as he reach me, struggling to take my eyes off Becky that looks fine, except for her hair.
"I don't know, one minute she was down and the next she was back on her feet shaking it off as if it was nothing" Lucian says softly. His voice was breaking on the last part, it must be the shock.
"Are you okay?" I ask. He's pale white and look as if he's about to faint.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out what the f�"." he wanted to curse but swallow his words. We went straight to Master Longwei's office."Master, I have to examine Becky" I hear Constance saying and he nods once. I never seen him angry before.
Our ways part and Becky was still protesting when we hurt Constance tells her to keep quiet. We enter his office. The look he gave all four of us was worse than a scolding.
"What happened!"
"Master Longwei, she got hit by lightning and went down. I don't know what or how she could still be alive. There was so many voltage running through her that I knew for a fact she should not be here" Lucian rambles.
"Lucian, how could you go to the lake this time of the night. You of all people knows better. Anything could have happened" he only crapped on Lucian as if he was the perpetrator.
"It was not his fault" I spoke out of turn and Master Longwei gave me a look that made me wish I never found Paegeia.
"I don't know how things worked on the other side of the wall young lady. But here we got rules, and it is life threatening if you disobey them" Master Longwei scolds more and my lower lip starts to vibrate softly. "We don't speak out of turn either if an elder talks."
I cringe. My father told me to share the blame if I was a culprit too. I wasn't disrespectful and became angry that he insinuate that. "I will have to think what punishment to give you four. You can be glad that Becky is still alive" his tone was deep. "You may go and if I ever catch you going for a midnight swim again, I promise none of you will see the light of day until you graduate." We all leave at the same time and my knees wobble as I climb down the stairs.
"It's going to be fine Elena" Lucian whispers next to me and I just nod my head, trying really hard not to cry.
"My father is so going to kill me" Dean cries.
"Let's just hope that was a warning" Lucian answers taking a deep breath. Sammy didn't say anything about her father. He would probably laugh at it, having to deal with Blake's s**t all of the time, hers might be like a breeze of fresh air. She did look petrified though.
Dad would have been angry too.
"Hey, are you okay" Lucian asks as we reach the stairs. I shake my head, not knowing if I was and he hugs me tightly. His arms felt so good but somehow didn't take away my anger. "Everything is going to be okay, I promise" he whispers softly and kiss me on the temple. "See you tomorrow."
I just nod my head, scared if I am going to say a word I will break down. Sammy takes my hand and leads me away.
"Goodnight guys" she sulks and we hear a faint reply. We reached our room and I fell on top of my bed, starting to cry.
"It's okay Elena, Becky is fine" Sammy tries to calm me down.
"How dare he say those things Sammy."
"Elena."
"Elena my a*s, to insinuate that I have no respect, that's disrespectful" I bawled.
"Calm down, it's over now. By tomorrow he would forget about all of this" she sings softly and taps me gently on my back. "Besides, Lucian kissed you" she tries to change the subject. I wish that it worked but Becky's drama was still the only thing that was playing off in my head. We jumps as she came in. Her hair was standing in every direction. I just want to hug her.
"Stay away" she orders us with huge eyes and hands in the air as if she was trapped in a glass box.
"How is this possible Becky?"
"Are you okay?" I asked worried. It looks as if she saw a ghost.
"I am fine, I have ascended" she yells.
"You have what!"
"I have ascended" she couldn't hold her tears anymore. Sammy wanted to hug her again. "Don't touch me, at least not for the next twenty four hours! Constance said that I still got so much electricity running through me that I can power up the entire school for a whole week. She actually wanted to do that" Becky shrieks still in shock. Tears were streaming down her face leaving small sparks but she didn't flinch or anything. I guess she was really immune to it. Her hair was standing in every direction and I didn't know if I wanted to laugh at her or cry with her. "They are phoning my mom as we speak."
"Why are you crying?"
"Because I can manipulate lightning. That is my power, stupid freaking lightning" and we both look at her if she hasn't maybe fried some of her brain cells too.
"I would give my left toe for an ability like yours" I reply and she throws me a glare that made me feel as if I was back in Master Longwei's office.
"You don't get it Elena. I have the power of lightning. It means my dragon is blue. The only one available in this school is George."
