The long-lost roommate

The long-lost roommate

A Story by IbiN

I woke up at 7 am. It was early because I have to get to work at 9. So I thought I could maybe drink a coffee in the coffee shop down the street. It’s a great coffee shop, I love it. I grabbed a jeans and a t-shirt, put on my shoes and left the house. I always listen to music when I leave the house. So I scrolled down my playlist. I stopped, because I saw a song which I last heard two years ago. I always listened to this song together with Paul. He was my roommate in college. It was a weird time with Paul. I really liked him, he was nice and handsome. We spend almost every class together and our lunch breaks. Also the time after school. But one day, he didn’t come home after a party on a Friday night. I tried to call him and I asked some friends I they saw him but nobody did. I thought he would maybe sleep over at a friend’s room. But the next morning he still wasn’t there. I was so worried, but I couldn’t do anything. When I tried to call him I could just hear his voice mail. I’ve never seen him again since this evening. That happened exactly 2 years ago.

I crossed the street and stood in front of the coffee shop. I looked through the window to check how long the queue is. And then I saw him. Paul. He was  standing  right there. And he was looking right into my eyes…
