Dread

Dread

A Story by IbiN

The lights were dissolved. There was no sound. I’ve only heard my panting breath going faster and faster. I couldn’t move;  my legs were like frozen and my head was full of thoughts… Will he catch me? Will he kidnap me? Will he kill me? But I knew I couldn’t stay here any longer. It’s not a good hiding place. I moved slowly to the door edge to see if I could find any way to escape.. And then I saw the ventilation hatch.. I just had to get to the other side of the corridor.. the way to the hatch didn’t seem long.. Maybe 6 or 7 meters.. I could do it… Slowly I stood up and put my left foot into the corridor.. I slipped through the door and listened again if I could hear any noise. But nothing.. Silence.. Deceptive silence… So I started running to the hatch.. But just as I reached it, I heard steps behind me… I knew it was him.. The was no way to escape… I sat in the trap.. I turned around and looked in his dark eyes. Filled with rage and hate.. “You’re the next!”,  he screamed and ran towards me…
