"Infected by wanderlust,
I ramble from dawn to dusk,
Vagrant, like wind-stirred dust,
In such dreary, dismal trains." - a true wow stanza here Annie I.
Each verse here could stand alone as a great piece of poetry. Amazing work. The refrain is so lyrical - it just burrows into the mind. Class!
:))
I love the pace of this poem and the wanderer's imagery.
It infects me with a sad nostalgia for younger days when I was unafraid to ramble and rove.
A beautiful creation, dear Annie.

I didnt see this review..sorry...It is never too late you know :)
When we become one with the journey, things unravel from their dismal range and validity. Any enjoyment adds adds the eventual luster and value within. An excellent write...:)......

Thank you so much Sami :) I very much agree with you
What's "dismal" - the train or the view? Both? And what would add colour and life and breath and spirit back to the "journey"?

I can really relate to this piece. Wanderlust is every present in my life, and girl your poem stirs that desire in all the readers.
To taste life in all its journeys- an everlasting quest. I liked it!
p.s. i like your cool new picture :)
Like they say journey is more important than destination and we all know what our final destination is. so i guess it's okay to enjoy the journey than worrying about some momentarily destinations :)
I like this one a lot... I wander about... whether in my mind or a park... I love to wander... it is the only way to be good sometimes :)
Those who do not wander and call us lost are what I call 'Naysayers'.. they bring about negativity to everything.. it is they who should be on "these dreary, dismal trains" and not us.. but since it's the only free train available.. we have no choice to be on them...
I relate to many things in this poem and not to ignore the afterthoughts it has brought unto me to help me 'wander away . . .'
Thank you for sharing :)

"Not all who wander are lost" - J.R.R Tolkien what a co-incidence! that's my whatsapp status :P. For those who see life through the eyes of spirituality, life is but a game. There is no destination per se. The journey itself is the destination.
I loved the first 4 lines -
"Stuck in perpetual pursuit,
Incapable, of taking root,
I drift, in constant commute
In dreary, dismal trains." .
Good job :)
