The Art of Concealment

The Art of Concealment

A Poem by Isabel25

Veiled windows, locked doors,

Memories turned rock-cold,

Granite galleries of my own,

Deeper dungeons in my soul.

Loathe me not, for this stoic fort,

Curse me not, for this farewell note,

This to myself that I’ve taught,

O’er the years I’ve failed and fought.

To un-feel, forever conceal,

Curb sentiment beneath a seal,

Not to wait for time to heal,

Nor bleed on the battle field.

I had bad luck with women. They were in bad places and liked the place they were in.
"Not to wait for time to heal,
Nor bleed on the battle field. "
It is sad when we fall down and give in to sadness and loss. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Everything sounds like a frozen state. It's not just physical but mentally a frozen state of mind as well. When you are just numb, numb enough to over-think.So i guess you just "think".This is just marvellous.

the snow castle is beautiful...........enjoyable.........a must have......
but dungeons are dungeons..........not even a story has till now been able to justify them.......
that is where the fist crack appears......crumbling comes all things soul or castle........
amazing writing............
i loved it!!!

you are welcome...............!!! :) :)
This is a little sad. SO much pain to lock your heart away and to conceal it and to not feel! Numbing out the pain and not feeling can mean numbing out the good too! :) Such great flow to this . fantastic piece again! :))

Ah yes, another snow queen on WC :) I really like it. A true concealment.
I can picture you singing the tune with your words.
You've played really well on the rhyme! well done!
