Introduction of a character

Hi I want to start a new story and thought about a character. Since this is the first story I am writing I wanted some tips for the introduction of my character. I am looking forward to your tips.

A normal day in Spring-Creek, a small village in the north of California. Five hundred citizens, a small grocery store and a college. And me.

My name is Katharina and I am a seventeen year old art student at the college. I just have some friends, maybe it is because of me. I don’t know what it is. But still some people like my, Alex as an example. I do not know him a lot, he is in my writing class, so I see him quite often. I would just wish he would pay more attention to me. 

The bell rings. I really dream to much in the periods, I should probably stop it. „Make sure you are turning in your assignments tomorrow.“, Mr. Betts and his homework. He is always giving us so many I have no idea when I should start doing it. I packed everything in my blue-grayish bag. He is not very nice or fashioned, but it is a present from my sister. She is two years younger then me and quite a bit crazy. Most the time she is reading books, and thinking about them, just like me.

My friend, there is not a lot here for me to give you any tips about the character or the story it self. I think, you need to write more out for anyone to get the feel for your story. I also think you are right about the grammar problems and would have your teacher or friend look it over. It would do you some good to read some books in English.

With all that said, I do see some good stuff in your work. I think you have a lot more to learn about writing and stories but you are on the right track. So do not stop.
