LostA Poem by Rebecca IsherwoodWritten 7-9-2008Counting every day As time fades away Melting down inside From the tears I've cried Bruised and broken My words go unspoken This same mind is worn This whole heart is torn My tortured soul may Forever stay at bay Completely detached Because I've unlatched Unleashed my desire My passionate fire Thrown baack in my face Ne'er to be replaced Unrequainted love is Lusts lucky temptress Giving reason to Give in and persue Regret attachment And find replacement Sex to fill the void Love is to avoid Time still goes on by I won't wonder why Months merge into years I dry my own tears Hardening slowly Trapped deep within me What I once could feel Finally revealed. © 2008 Rebecca Isherwood |
