Angel Vs. DemonA Poem by Rebecca IsherwoodUnknown date. Most likely 2007.An angel falls down from the sky Unnoticed, unknown, and in flames Sent like a meterorite, alone Accompanied only by its own shame
This angel wanders life in an Unfamiliar form, reborn How could a spirit turn mortal again? Wandering, wondering "Why a woman?"
Angels, like true daemons, have sight Beyond that of the faceless If your heart is pure, they can tell Pure evil are the shameless
Burdened only by their Very own hatred and ignorance The blood is on their hands Burning from their violence
Angels are among us Pay attention fools of birth Humans choose their own path Heaven is Death and Hell's on earth
Demons run amok Causing havoc in the streets Shooting innocent bystanders Stealing things they mustn't keep
The difference between them Wings of angel and daemon Simply the color of feathers Pure of heart or purely Sin
Daemons are the criminals Their souls set aflame They have a blood thirst That only human sacrifice can tame
Angels are among us Pay attention fools of birth Humans choose their own path Heaven is Death and Hell's on earth
The justice system tries Puts a few behind bars But buildings are just so useful Until more humans hit the tar
There is no building large enough To hold in the sin of man The only defense left is To grow up and take a stand
Stand up for yourself The lawmen are human too So few willing to risk their lives But what path will you choose?
Angels are among us Pay attention fools of birth Humans choose their own path Heaven is Death and Hell's on earth © 2008 Rebecca IsherwoodAuthor's Note
