Insomniac Moment

Insomniac Moment

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood

Dreams are magical things

All your hopes and wishes

The inspirations and faith

Strength to take on a new day

Subconscious drifting

Daydreaming or nightmares

Asleep or unconscious

Incoherent or alive

Tossing sleeping or walking

Read into your dreams

Some are merely for pleasure

Others you don't remember

Most have hidden messages

Pleasant or frightening

Exotically ecstasy

Strong and severe feelings

Horrid turmoil, night sweats

Hot, heavy and passionate sex

What are your dreams

Fueled by goals

Frightened by anxieties

Flashes of light and high wire

Could they say to you

What you want to be

Distorted reality

Mirror and glass mazes

Subliminal warnings

Made to make you wonder

An ever-changing puzzle

For you to get lost in

Disappear into it now

Sleep is all too necessary
