RestrictionA Poem by Rebecca Isherwood12-7-03Limit this and limit that Don’t worry about me I’ve got this down pat What don’t you want us to see How can one limit expression Or turn down creativity In this state of oppression This poem is only one But am I here, just turn around Look at me! I’m speaking out Making a loud and vibrant sound Against all the limits People place on writing We work magic with it So we’ll keep fighting For rights of free speech It’s our method and media We’ll extend our reach Throughout the encyclopedia We know what we’re doing Conveying feelings and thoughts Putting repression to ruin Poetry stories and books we bought The authors’ creations All written by our hands Spread the words across the nation And make better our lands. © 2008 Rebecca Isherwood |
