Singing Angel of the Night

Singing Angel of the Night

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood

Ebony tinted feathers

Ever graceful in their flight

Soaring the sky in extasy

Under the full moons light

Sleek, taut muscles

Working nearly silently

Outstretched and yearning

To explore their full capacity

Then it begins...

Have you ever heard

The voice of an angel sing?

Don't fly too close to

The light, it's piercing

Don't venture into the

Darkness, because it devours

Whittling away the time

Hour by menacing hour

Grasping at stars

Caressed by the sky's

Sweet velvet embrace

Soaring higher than high

Captured by emotions

And taken away

Wishing only that the

Sky is where he could stay

Have you ever heard

The Voice of an angel sing?

Don't fly too close to

The light, it's piercing

Don't venture into the

Darkness, because it devours

Whittling away the time

Hour by menacing hour.
